What’s new on Paramount+ in November 2023

Lawman: Bass Reeves is arriving on Paramount+ in November, and to no one’s surprise, it’s the new original series written and created by Taylor Sheridan, the guy behind almost all of the streamer’s high-profile shows. Just to illustrate that point, Sheridan created or co-created Mayor of Kingstown, 1883, Tulsa King, 1923, Special Ops: Lioness, and a little show for The Paramount Network called Yellowstone. That means a sizable audience is going to be checking out Sheridan’s take on the life of the first black Deputy U.S. Marshal west of the Mississippi River.

For comedy fans, Paramount+ is premiering the original movie, Good Burger 2, while cinema lovers will be able to dive into all three of The Godfather films and a wide assortment of modern and classic flicks. That’s in addition to Paramount+’s live sporting events which will be streamed throughout the month.

Be sure to remember that Paramount+ has multiple tiers, and the highest tier,  Paramount+ with Showtime, includes shows and movies from Showtime that are not available on the lower tiers. To make things easier for you in our roundup of everything new on Paramount+ for the month of November, the shows and movies below that are marked with an asterisk (*) are only available on Paramount+ with Showtime. Titles marked with a double asterisk (**) can be live-streamed from CBS by Paramount+ with Showtime subscribers. Our picks for the month are in bold.

And if you subscribe to other streaming services, we also have helpful guides to the best movies on Netflix and best shows on Netflix, as well as the best movies streaming on Amazon and best TV shows streaming on Amazon, plus plenty of guides for Hulu, Disney+, and HBO Max.

What’s new on Disney+ in November 2023
The cast of The Santa Clauses season 2.

Get ready for Christmas in November. You will see this on all of the streaming services in November, but especially on Disney+. This month, Tim Allen's The Santa Clauses is back for its second season, but sci-fi fans may be more excited by the Disney+ premiere of Doctor Who. The Star Beast is the first of three Doctor Who 60th anniversary specials featuring David Tennant as the Doctor and Catherine Tate as his former companion, Donna Noble. The other two specials will premiere on Disney+ in December, before the traditional Doctor Who Christmas special officially introduces Ncuti Gatwa as the next Doctor.

Marvel Studios' Loki season 2 will come to a close this month, as will the initial season of the Goosebumps revival series. Additionally, Spider-Man: Far From Home is making its Disney+ debut in November, which leaves Spider-Man: No Way Home as the only live-action Spidey film with Tom Holland that isn't on Marvel's official streaming home. No Way Home is also the only MCU film that's currently absent from Disney+. Perhaps that will change at some point in 2024.

What’s new on HBO and Max
Selena Gomez holds a plate of food in Selena + Chef.

The kickoff for the Christmas season used to be the day after Thanksgiving. Now it looks like it's the day after Halloween. HBO and Max are joining the other streamers by adding a ton of Christmas-related movies and specials in November. 'Tis the season, and all that. But it's probably because there aren't as many Thanksgiving movies as there are for Christmas.

Aside from the holiday programming, it's a pretty quiet month on Max. The only HBO scripted series of note is the new season of Rap Sh!t, which has a title that was made for premium cable. Curiously, Max is also adding off-brand direct-to-video sequels Mean Girls 2 and Legally Blondes. The next thing you know, Max will probably get all of those American Pie spinoffs we tried so hard to forget.
